Chisinau, 2 March /MOLDPRES/- A thermal plant in a complex with solar water heating system was inaugurated at the Calarasi district hospital on 1 March. The project is an investment of the German government through the program “Modernizing local public services in Moldova”, implemented by the International Cooperation Agency of Germany.
The reconstruction of the plant and installation of the solar system was carried out in August-December 2017, and the investment measures amounted to about 8.4 million lei.
“The success of such projects is guaranteed only when making a contribution everyone involved, namely: Centre Regional Development Agency, Ministry of Agriculture, Regional Development and Environment and the local public administration in Calarasi. I want you to take advantage of the heat of this installation for years, as well as the money saved,” German Ambassador to Moldova Julia Monar said.
“The thermal plant at Calarasi hospital was equipped with three boilers and a solar heating system. This is a model that is being implemented all over the world, and the use of solar energy is very important for our country,” Minister of Agriculture, Regional Development and Environment Liviu Volconovici said.
Renovation of the power plant will provide the entire hospital with thermal agent and will contribute to the reduction of the carbon dioxide emissions by up to 40 per cent.
