Moldovan speaker of parliament meets with more officials at first high – level interparliamentary conference

Chisinau, 02 March /MOLDPRES/ – "The result is stronger when two or more voices merge. Moldovan – Ukrainian relations will continue to work better. Today, we have laid foundations for a new stage in our cooperation," told Speaker of Parliament of Moldova, Andrian Candu, to Speaker of Ukrainian Legislative, Andriy Parubiy, the parliament’s communication and public relations department has reported.
At the meeting, organised within margins of high – level interparliamentary conference: Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine: Eastern Partnership and Current Security Challenges, Andrian Candu welcomed setting of Parliamentary Assembly Moldova – Ukraine – Georgia (PAMUG).
"We have common problems, but also a common future. We need to be more active internationally to get more for our citizens. When we have more joint actions, we will be better heard at international level," said head of Ukrainian Parliament.
Andriy Parubiy said that Ukraine has taken several actions to ensure info security through mass media. It is a rigorous control over media in Russia, as a result of which Ukraine has strengthened its national cinema and managed to promote European films. Also, every 4th musical piece is obligatory in Ukrainian language at the Ukrainian radio stations. The Ukrainian authorities also undertook some restrictive actions on social networks, which, according to Parubiy, are under the control of FSB.
The two officials sent a letter to the Heads of Legislatives of European states requesting, among other things, that decisions related to North Stream 2 comply with EU norms.
Also today, Parliament Speaker, Andrian Candu, had meetings with Deputy Senate and Deputy Chief of the Republic of Poland, Maria Koc and Ryszard Terlecki, and vice – President of Seimas of Lithuania, Irena Degutiene. The foreign officials reiterated support for the European path of Moldova.
