US to continue support in modernisation, territorial integrity of Moldova

Chisinau, 02 March /MOLDPRES/ – Prime Minister Pavel Filip and Judge Ted Poe, member of the US Congress House, discussed about Moldovan – American cooperation and region – level approach today as to ensure security and stability, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
Within dialogue framework, Prime Minister welcomed introduction on agenda of US Congress of draft resolution on promotion of bilateral relations and the US support for territorial integrity of Moldova. Pavel Filip also appreciated US role in negotiation format 5+2 and expressed his gratitude for contribution of Atlantic Council and US party in organizing in premier the Interparliamentary Conference: Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine: Eastern Partnership Current Security Challenges.
In the opinion of the US official, strengthening forces of the three countries facing similar security challenges is a very good strategy for overcoming them and making democratic transformations. Judge Ted Poe specified that his country would continue to support territorial integrity of these countries and provide political and financial support to ensure stability in the region.
The parties also examined the state of affairs in Moldova and process of implementing reforms, with a focus on justice sector and fight against corruption – key issues for economic development and increasing the life quality of citizens.
At the meeting end, Pavel Filip and Judge Ted Poe pointed out the need to continue to provide permanent communication in order to boost bilateral strategic dialogue.
