Canada to back new projects for National Army

Chisinau, 6 March /MOLDPRES/- Defense Minister Eugen Sturza today had a meeting with Canadian Ambassador to Moldova residing in Bucharest, Kevin Hamilton. The Canadian official assured that his country is willing to expand defense cooperation with Moldova.
According to the Defense Ministry, the agenda of talks focused on issues related to bilateral cooperation on the military dimension and the possibilities to expand the Moldovan-Canadian partnership, the regional situation and the priorities of the Defense Ministry for this year.
Sturza appreciated Canada’s support as a donation of equipment for the National Army sappers, and noted that these protective suits are used so far by military sappers in mine clearance missions throughout the country.
Hamilton said that his country is willing to expand defense cooperation and will back the implementation of defense projects.
The military cooperation between Moldova and Canada started in 1996.
