Forestry employees of Moldova, Romania establish new collaboration framework

Chisinau, 06 March /MOLDPRES/ – Agency Moldsilva of Moldova and the Romanian Romsilva concluded today a new Memorandum of Understanding in Bucharest, a document that establishes framework for cooperation between forestry workers in Moldova and Romania.   

The Memorandum provides for the exchange of info between two institutions, transfer of know – how, exchanges of experience and training of forest holders, participation in professional competitions, development of joint projects, cooperation within investment sector.

Also, according to document, two institutions will develop and implement sustainable forest management plans, cooperate in protected natural areas, correlate their positions on forestry issues at international level, undertake joint actions to increase competitiveness and sustainability of forestry sector.

The Memorandum also provides for collaboration within combating desertification and erosion, afforestation actions and development of techniques for production of forest seedlings.

"This memorandum is a continuation of productive collaboration. We have always had the support of our colleagues in Romania, we have jointly agreed interesting and useful projects for forestry fund, and through document signed today we reconfirmed our intentions to work together on this segment," said director of Moldsilva, Ion Haralampov.

The forestry workers from Moldova and Romania have developed close relations within 27 years, with many exchanges of experience and joint actions between Moldsilva and Romsilva.
