Chisinau city hall initiates spring sanitation campaign

Chisinau, 07 March /MOLDPRES/ – The Chisinau City Hall initiated the spring sanitation campaign today. The works will be carried out until 06 April, based on a plan approved by the acting interim mayor, Silvia Radu.
According to the Chisinau city hall’s information and media communication service, during the spring cleaning campaign, the General Housing and Communal Directorate will ensure sanitation of common use areas, sidewalks, waiting areas for public transport, household waste collection platforms, as well as pillar cleaning and walls where unauthorized ads were placed. Similarly, the Housing and Commune Registry will monitor the sanitation and landscaping works related to dwelling blocks, including playgrounds for children and sports.
At the same time, the General Direction of Public Transport and Communication will ensure sanitation of streets and underground passages, washing and painting rails of bridges and guardrails on streets. During the same period, all courtyards and lands of kindergartens, schools and medical institutions will be sanitised and arranged in municipality.
Similarly, sector prices will liquidate unauthorized dumps and clean up basins of river basins and lakes in the city, including the rivers Durlesti, Gastei Valley, Holbacica, Tiganca, Malina Mica, Valea Trandafirilor, Ciocana and Muncesti.
Also, the representatives of municipal enterprise: Association of green areas will carry out general cleaning works in parks, squares, alleys and green spaces in Chisinau and repair urban furniture. They will also clear damaged trees in public domain and plant trees in their missing places.
Interviewed by agency, spokesman of mayor’s office, Vadim Branzaniuc, said that today workers began cleaning rainwater drainage ducts. "By improvement of weather, lawns and territories adjoining dwelling blocks will be cleaned," said Branzaniuc.
The person in charge for carrying out works will submit weekly reports on the work done.
