Weather conditions expected to warm within upcoming period in Moldova

Chisinau, 09 March /MOLDPRES/ – The weather forecasts for upcoming days suggests high temperatures with variable sky, isolated precipitations in form of rains.

According to the State Hydrometeorological Service’s (SHS) information and media communication service, warming tendency will preserve until the beginning of the following week, when thermal values to range 10 – 16ºC above zero during the daytime, and 02 – 08ºC at night. But, starting Tuesday weather will cool down 03 – 08ºC during the day and 01 – 05ºC at night.

By weather cooling, there are possible rain and snow precipitations throughout Moldova. The SHS’s info indicates, average amount of fallen precipitations is 18 – 34 mm in territory and number of precipitation days ranging from 08 to 12 in March. The multiannual observations data show that highest monthly precipitation was 168 mm (Edinet, 1980) and daily maximum – 70 mm (Stefan – Voda, 2002).

The Yellow Code of breaking ice is valid in Moldova until 12 March.

According to popular meteorology, 09 March is considered to be the second encounter of spring, and it is related to more beliefs.

However, it is believed if that day is warm, then there will follow 40 warm days, and if it is cold, then it will be 40 days with cold mornings. It will also rain on Easter, if it rains on that day.
