Moldova participates firstly into European energy efficiency competition

Chisinau, 09 March /MOLDPRES/ – The businessmen of Moldova who are active in the field of energy efficiency or develop sector technologies can try their powers at European level and commence with a start – up. The best ones will receive prizes up €35,000. The competition deadline is 15 April.

The start – up competition in Central and Eastern Europe, called: PowerUp!, was launched recently and is organized in 24 countries.

The entrepreneurs are encouraged to compete developing products that can change future of energy and mobility sectors, improve air quality or contribute to city and building development. Also, it is intended for companies that develop cyber solutions or info technologies for facilities and utilities.

The competition will take place in several stages. Until 15 April, participants must complete online form on www.powerup.innoenergy.com.  Subsequently, there will be organised national or regional competitions according to number of eligible participants, and their winners will compete in grand final in Prague, Czech Republic.

The best start – ups will receive prizes up €35,000 and get access to mentoring services of renowned European businessmen. At the same time, companies will be invited to participate in InnoEnergy Highway Accelerator programmes, with access to investment up €150,000.

PowerUp! is organised yearly by EIT InnoEnergy. In 2018, it is the fourth issue of competition, and Moldova is going to participate for the first time. The PowerUp! National Contact Point in Moldova is Centre for Socio – Economic Development and Support of Innovative Entrepreneurship.
