Moldovan president signs decree on resignation of justice minister

Chisinau, 13 March /MOLDPRES/ - President Igor Dodon today signed a decree on the resignation of Justice Minister Alexandru Tanase.
The presidential decree reads that the head of state took note of the application on resignation, submitted by Alexandru Tanase on 12 March.
“This is the 16th resignation from the Filip Government which I sign,” Dodon wrote on a social network.
Alexandru Tanase on 11 March informed that he tendered resignation, after an interception of a phone call between Tanase and Veaceslav Platon, convicted for bank fraud, had been made public.
At the same time, the leader of Moldova’s Democratic Party (PDM), Vlad Plahotniuc, today said that PDM had ruled to put forward Victoria Iftodi for the office of justice minister. Iftodi presently work as judge at the Constitutional Court. At the same time, Vlad Plahotniuc noted that Prime Minister Pavel Filip would soon put up the candidacy of Victoria Iftodi to the head of state.
