Moldova gets into priority list of Liechtenstein Development Agency’s activities

Chisinau, 13 March /MOLDPRES/ – Liechtenstein contributes onto modernisation and integration of Moldova into community system of values by implementing social – educational and commercial – economic projects in Moldova. Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, Tudor Ulianovschi, made that statement today during a meeting with the Prime Minister of the Principality of Liechtenstein, Adrian Hasler, the MAEIE’s public diplomacy, strategic communication and media interaction service has reported.

Minister Ulianovschi thanked authorities in Liechtenstein for their interest in developing relations with Moldova, in this context, especially in the field of assistance by means of Liechtenstein Development Agency (LED). "We are glad that Moldova is included into priority list of LED’s activities, being the only country in Europe with assistance from the Liechtenstein Development Agency, which provides assistance in priority sectors for Moldova – technical vocational education, workplace, entrepreneurial training activities, promotion of quality in early education and others," said the head of Moldovan diplomacy.

Tudor Ulianovschi also mentioned that Moldova has been interested in deepening bilateral relations with Liechtenstein in more domains – education, info technology, commercial and economic, especially e – commerce segment, etc. Referred to it, Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration also said that Moldova was pleading for initiation of negotiations with states of the European Free Trade Association (EFTA) with a view to concluding a Free Trade Agreement (FTA) with those ones, allowing expansion of commercial and economic relations both with member states and other world countries.

Prime Minister, Adrian Hasler, confirmed readiness of Liechtenstein to develop further bilateral relations of Moldova and Liechtenstein in political, economic, investment and other fields, as they contribute to establishing mutually beneficial dialogue between Moldova and Liechtenstein, of social and economic development for interest of these countries’ citizens. Adrian Hasler also said that LED has had three coordination offices around worldwide, one of those offices being in Chisinau, proving special relationship of Moldova and Liechtenstein.

The interlocutors pointed out that Agreement on humanitarian assistance and technical co – operation of Liechtenstein, which was signed for a term of 10 years today, is an effective platform for deepening bilateral relations to be developed in future within political dialogue between Moldova and Liechtenstein.

The diplomatic relations between Moldova and Liechtenstein were established on 14 August 2001. The first Ambassador of the Republic of Moldova to Liechtenstein was the current Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, Tudor Ulianovschi, who presented his accreditation letters to the Hereditary Prince Alois Liechtenstein on 11 November 2016.
