Disabilities to be determined based on new mechanism in Moldova

Chisinau, 15 March /MOLDPRES/ – Disabilities will be determined based on a new mechanism, according to a Regulation to be published in Official Journal of Moldova on 16 March.
The purpose of the document is to improve process of determining the degree of disability in a fair, impartial and transparent way.
The regulation provides formation of territorial structures of a Council in each district/municipality and sector of Chisinau Municipality, which will ensure at the local level preparation and transmission of files for determining the degree of disability, without the persons going to other administrative – territorial units. Also, citizens will no longer be required to determine the degree of disability, which will eliminate travel related expenses and risks of corruption.
The set of documents may also be submitted on – line or by designated representative. It will be examined by special teams made up of experts in determining the degree of disability. Totally, there will be activated 15 teams, out of which 12 for determining the degree of disability of adults and 3 of children.
Similarly, three control services will be set up in order to examine correctness of determination of disability levels and notifications from authorities and citizens.
Impartiality in the process of determining the degree of disability will be ensured by randomly distributing files and control services of special teams. The application of electronic circuit of files will be done through the Automated Info System: Social Assistance.
