EU to further back strengthening of government-civil society relation in Moldova

Chisinau, 15 March /MOLDPRES/ – Prime Minister, Pavel Filip, discussed with Senior EU level advisor for relationship of Government with civil society, Ancuta Vamesu, the opportunities for improving interaction of authorities with civil society at a meeting today, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
Pavel Filip referred upon importance of open and efficient cooperation with civil society, which has been a priority for current Government right from its mandate start. In this context, Prime Minister talked about broad involvement of civil society organisations into decision – making process, mentioning setting of National Participation Council (CNP), functionality of platform particip.gov.md, as well as National Councils (CN) specialized in several fields, representatives of civil society. It will soon be approved law on NGO activity.
At her turn, EU High Level Advisor appreciated actions coming to strengthen relationship with civil society and ensured his support on it. "The civil society must be viewed widely, not only by NGOs active in areas of good governance and rule of law, but also in other sectors, like: economic, industrial, agrarian, so as to ensure close cohesion with civil society, said Ancuta Vamesu.
There were established priorities for next period of dynamics for activity of CNP and elaboration of a set of joint priorities of Government – CNP, streamlining of all civil society participation platforms and consultations in the process of public policy elaboration and identification of new interaction mechanisms.
