Moldovan meteorologists forecast cold, snowfall, blizzard for next days

Chisinau, 16 March /MOLDPRES/ - The State Hydrometeorological Service (SHS) today informed about a Yellow Code of sharp weather change, valid for 17-22 March.
According to meteorologists, complicated weather conditions are expected on the concerned period, triggered by Mediterranean cyclones. Thus, during 17-20 March, precipitation is forecast, in the beginning rains and on 18-19 March turning into heavy sleet and snowfall (10-15 litres per one square metre, during 12 hours).
Blizzard is expected in some regions, layers of sleet are forecast to be formed on electric wires and branches, with snow drifts on roads. The north-western wind is to gust up to 15-20 metres/second. The weather is to sharply cool, with the average air temperature to be by 6-11 Celsius degrees below the normal values for this period. The coldest weather is expected on 18-19 March, when the air temperatures are to vary between -4 and – 6 Celsius degrees during the day and -8 and 13 degrees at night.
