More flights record delays because of snowfall in Moldova

Chisinau, 18 March /MOLDPRES/ - More flights today were delayed at the Chisinau International Airport because of the heavy snowfall.
The Airport’s information service has told MOLDPRES that, because of the bad weather conditions, delays in arrivals and departures were registered.
According to data, there are delays at the take-off of a plane flying to Venice, Italy.
At the same time, there are delays of almost one hour at the landing of a plane flying from Berlin.
In the context, airport’s representatives specified that no flight had been cancelled till present. ‘’For the time being, other delays or cancellations are not scheduled,’’ the source said.
Contacted by MOLDPRES, representatives of the North, Centre and South Bus Terminals from Chisinau said that, presently, all transport units were moving as normal and there were no ceasings or delays. At the same time, the sources noted that ‘’during the day, changes may appear because of the unfriendly weather condition.’’
The State Roads’ Administration today morning informed that all roads of Moldova had been cleaned at night and now they are practicable and accessible. Also, the dangerous segments are monitored permanently and competent authorities intervene if necessary.
Meteorologists announced a Yellow Code of snowfall, ice, wind and cold waves for 17-22 March.
