Moldovan justice minister sworn in office

Chisinau, 19 March /MOLDPRES/ - New Justice Minister Victoria Iftodi took the oath today. Attending the event were Prime Minister Pavel Filip and President Igor Dodon, who signed the decree on the minister’s appointment to office, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
After the ceremony of swearing in office, the prime minister introduced Victoria Iftodi to the staff of the Justice Ministry, noting that the new minister had a rich experience and would manage to contribute to the advancement in implementing the reforms underway in the justice sector. In the context, the PM stressed that the reform of this sector remained a priority for the cabinet.
“This is one of the three important reforms, along with education and development of roads’ infrastructure. If we want pensions, salaries, social and public investments, we should understand that the first thing we must do is the justice reform. Where there is fair and impartial justice, investors and money are coming to Moldova’s budget,” the prime minister said.
For her part, Victoria Iftodi thanked for the trust provided, noting that she knew the problems from the system and the exercising of the mandate would be focused on the promotion of projects with maximum impact for the society. “I am set to continue the government’s efforts for the implementation of the strategic directions announced in the justice reform. We are to carry out this reform not only to observe our commitments assumed before our development partners, but, first of all, for the citizens,” the justice minister said.
