Moldova hosts Francophone film festival

Chisinau, 20 March /MOLDPRES/ – The Francophone Film Festival, 17th issue, which started on 19 March at Cultural Centre Odeon in Moldovan capital and will last until 25 March, will present 11 French films and international co – productions during this week in Chisinau and Tiraspol cities.  

According to Deputy Director of French Alliance, Adrian Cibotaru, most are recent productions, some screened firstly at Cannes Film Festival 2017, but they are also classic films from 60's. "There are new films that have never been broadcast or shown in cinemas of Moldova and even on small screens. We have a completely different approach this time, with new films that the audience will hopefully enjoy," said Adrian Cibotaru.

It will be screened film: Inner light on Wednesday at Odeon at 18:00, about an actress in Paris, a divorced mother who is looking for a true love, and film: Double lover at 20:00. The second film has an unstable, depressing young woman who falls in love with her psychotherapist. The relationship goes a long way, until at some point she discovers that her partner hides something.

The audience will watch films: Umbrellas in Cherbourg, on Thursday, at 18:00 and Pierrot the crazy, at 20:00 and Redutabil and Dalida on Friday. Also, two films: Jappeloup and Umbrellas in Cherbourg will be shown in Tiraspol on Friday. There will be screened: Tamara and People and birds at 20:00 and Aya from Yop at 15:00 and Jappeloup at 18:00 at Odeon on Saturday.

The Francophone Film Festival, 17th issue, is organised by French Alliance in Moldova with support of Embassy of France in Chisinau, French Institute and channel TV5Monde.
