Moldovan deputy premier meets head of OSCE Mission in Moldova

Chisinau, 20 March /MOLDPRES/ - Deputy Prime Minister Cristina Lesnic today had a meeting with Head of the OSCE Mission in Moldova Michael Scanlan. Attending the event were representatives of Moldova’s delegation to the Joint Control Commission and experts on behalf of the OSCE Mission, the Reintegration Polices Bureau has reported.
The officials discussed in detail the present situation in the Security Zone. The most pressing problems persisting in the concerned perimeter, the functionality and movement on the bridge between the settlements Gura Bacului and Bacioc, the need to reestablish the infrastructure of this bridge and observe the commitments as to the ensuring of the free movement, the OSCE’s role in the process of collecting and presenting the information, including to the Joint Control Commission, concerning the situation in the Security Zone, prospects for identifying lasting and beneficial solutions to the interests of the residents from both banks of Dniester.
At the same time, the sides reviewed the degree of implementation of the agreements reached between Chisinau and Tiraspol during 2017 and pointed out the opportunity to boost efforts in order to advance in processes underway and settle the present problems.
On this occasion, the officials coordinated also organizational aspects as regards a visit by Special Representative of the OSCE Chairman-in-Office Franco Frattini, who is to come to Moldova in the near future and to carry out consultations with the political representatives on behalf of Chisinau and Tiraspol.
