Implementation of Moldova's European agenda discussed yesterday

Chisinau, 22 March /MOLDPRES/- Progress on Moldova-EU cooperation dimension was analyzed yesterday at a meeting of the governmental commission on European integration, chaired by Prime Minister Pavel Filip, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
Referring to the conclusions of the EU Foreign Affairs Council on the situation in Moldova, approved on 26 February 2018, the premier noted that the document reflects both the results got by the authorities and the areas where the efforts need to be boosted. Thus, in the context of the priorities set by the Foreign Affairs Council, he approached the importance of further promoting reforms in the justice, combating corruption and progress in other areas of dialogue with the EU, which will be discussed at the meeting of the EU-Moldova Association Council, due in May.
The members of the commission also agreed on the timetable for the implementation of the recommendations of the European Commission’s report on application of the visa suspension mechanism on 20 December 2017. The timetable includes measures such as – implementation of the new strategy on preventing and combating trafficking in human beings 2018-2021, approved at the 21 March cabinet meeting, and organization of information campaigns to promote the rights and obligations of citizens benefitting from the liberalized visa regime.
The developments in achieving conditions for getting EU macro-financial assistance were also discussed at the meeting.
