Chisinau, 22 March /MOLDPRES/- Delegate of Moldova to the World Trade Organisation (WTO) Corina Cojocaru has presented at a meeting of the municipal council of Collonge-Bellerive in the canton of Geneva, Switzerland, Moldova’s investment and economic development opportunities, and invited the mayor and members of the municipal council to pay a working visit to Moldova, the MAEIE’s public diplomacy, strategic communication and media relations service has reported.

Following the invitation of the head of the municipal council, Nurberto Brichner, and mayor of Collonge-Bellerive Francine de Planta, Cojocaru informed the local public authorities in the canton of Geneva about the development potential of our country in the organic agriculture sector, textile industry, information technologies, as well as the benefits by the Association Agreement with the EU.

Cojocaru stressed the importance of promoting cooperation in various areas at the level of local public authorities in both states given that the Chisinau municipality needs sectoral policies to modernize and take over the best administrative practices in the Geneva canton. Thus, the dialogue between the public authorities in Chisinau and the administration of Collonge-Bellerive was launched following the contacts set by the Mission of Moldova in Geneva.

Over 25 Swiss municipal councilors will have a string of meetings with representatives of Chisinau city hall and municipal council, Chamber of Commerce and Industry and leadership of the Foreign and European Integration Ministry.
