Election campaign to start with registration of candidates

Chisinau, 22 March /MOLDPRES/- The electoral campaign in the new local elections will start with the registration of candidates by electoral council and will end the day before the election.

The Central Election Commission (CEC) announced that second-level constituencies (Chisinau and Balti) will be formed until 30 March, and first level constituencies (Leuseni, Nemteni, Volovita, Jora de Mijloc and Parlita) – until 10 April.

The district electoral council shall register or refuse to register candidates for elections within 7 days of receipt of the documents. After the registration of all candidates, it will publish the full list.

On 20 May, new mayors will be elected in seven localities: Chisinau, Balti, Leuseni and Nemteni (Hancesti district), Volovita village (Soroca district), Jora de Mijloc (Orhei) and Parlita (Ungheni).
