Moldovan official journal roundup for 23 March

Chisinau, 22 March /MOLDPRES/- The promulgation decree and the text of Air Code of Moldova, approved by the parliament last year, will be published in the Official Journal of Moldova on 23 March.

The new Air Code will create legal prerequisites for the implementation of the Joint Aviation Area Agreement and will ensure the functional integration of the civil aviation of Moldova into the European system. The new provisions will set procedures for certification and operation of aircraft, protection of people and goods on the ground, air operators, aerodromes, aviation staff and technique.

Also, the code sees security and air navigation charges for the provision of airport security and air navigation services. It regulates civil aviation activities, sets civil aviation administration institutions and competencies of other bodies in the aviation safety and security.

The code will enter into force 12 months after its publication in the Official Journal of Moldova. During this period, the government will submit to the parliament proposals for bringing the legislation in force in accordance with the present code, will bring its normative acts in line with the present code and will ensure amendment or abrogation by the specialized central bodies and departments of their normative acts contrary to the present code. Also, the Civil Aviation Law No 1237/1997 will be repealed upon entry into force of the Air Code.
