Chisinau, 22 March /MOLDPRES/- The government’s decision to approve the draft law on integrity alerts will be published in the Official Journal of Moldova on 23 March.

The draft law on integrity alerts aims to set up an effective mechanism for denouncing corruption and protecting integrity whistleblowers, which will increase the denunciation of illegal practices and other disclosures of public interest.

The document sets procedures for notifying illegal practices in public and private entities, examining them, rights of whistleblowers and measures to protect them, obligations of employers, powers of the authorities responsible for considering such disclosures and protection of whistleblowers.

The draft law was worked out to implement the national integrity and anti-corruption strategy for 2017-2020, as well as to adjust Moldova’s legislative framework to the international standards in the field.

The document will be submitted to the parliament for consideration.
