National Bank of Moldova puts into circulation 12 golden, silver commemorative, jubilee coins

Chisinau, 23 March /MOLDPRES/ - The National Bank of Moldova (BNM) will put into circulation 12 commemorative and jubilee coins, under a decision published in the Official Journal (Monitorul Oficial) of Moldova today.
The coins will be put into circulation starting from 27 March.
According to BNM, it is about the series Alley of Classics from the Stefan cel Mare Public Garden of Chisinau, on which Mihail Kogalniceanu and Alexei Mateevici will be imprinted. These coins will be made from gold and silver.
Eugen Doga and Ion Vatamanu will be imprinted on silver coins within the Personalities series, on the occasion of these persons’ 80th birthday anniversary.
Another series is Famous Women and is dedicated to Maria Dragan at her 70th birthday anniversary. The coins are made of silver.
One more series is the one of Historical Events. It will be dedicated to marking the 100th anniversary of the foundation of Sfatul Tarii (Country Council) and the 100th anniversary of Bessarabia’s Union with Romania (made of gold and silver).
Also, the series, The Red Book of Moldova, will be carried out, on which a triangular china pink will be imprinted. The coin will be made of silver.
At the same time, a series, Science and Innovation, will be launched, dedicated to Vladimir Andrunachievici at his 100th birthday anniversary. The coin will be made of silver.
The sale of commemorative and jubilee coins will be made through BNM and licenced banks. The licenced banks independently establish their selling price; yet, the tax will not exceed by three per cent the price set by BNM.
The commemorative and jubilee coins are accepted as payment means in the national economy, at their nominal value. Their value will be of 1,000, 100, and 50 lei.
The decision enters into force on the date of publication in the Official Journal of Moldova.
