Chisinau, 18 July /MOLDPRES/ - The people holding public offices in the local public administration and the staff carrying out the technical servicing and ensuring the work of the local public authorities will be able to benefit from stimulating payments worth up to 50 per cent and 15 per cent of the monthly office salary. These increases are stipulated in the draft law on the amendment and completion of the law on wage payment system in the budgetary sector, approved by the cabinet today.
The Finance Ministry suggested that, to exclude ambiguities in the interpretation of norms, the draft should read that the concerned payments are made monthly.
At the cabinet meeting, Finance Minister Octavian Armasu said that allocations were seen in the state budget for 2018 to cover current expenses of the local public authorities, which came about during the year and which were not provided for in their budgets. Financial means will be distributed for implementing the draft’s provisions at the expense of these allocations. The monthly spending for providing stimulating payments at the maximal limit amount to 5.5 million lei.
„These drafts are welcome, especially when they regard the local public administration,” PM Pavel Filip said.
The salary increases might be applied as early as starting next August, the deputy leader of the Democratic Party, Vladimir Cebotari, said at a news briefing on 10 July, held after a weekly meeting of the party.
