Monaco Principality to provide 100,000 euros for rehabilitation of Botanical gareden after April 2017 snow

Chisinau, 18 July /MOLDPRES/ The Foundation of the Prince Albert II of Monaco will provide Moldova with a grant worth 100,000 euros for the restoration of the Botanical Garden, Prime Minister Pavel Filip said at a today’s cabinet meeting, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
„We held discussions with Prince Albert in May last year, when he was in Chisinau, immediately after the April snow. Even if we have not been passive so far, I believe that this contribution is very good and fit,” Pavel Filip said.
The assistance of 100,000 euros will be provided in installments. Besides, Moldova will receive another 240,000 euros for the conservation and enhancement of the fertility of the soil of the Orhei National Park.
In the context, PM Pavel Filip demanded that the Education, Culture and Research Ministry ensures the efficient management and the transparency of the money.
Following the bad weather from 20-21 April 2017, about 80 per cent of the trees and bushes of the Chisinau-based Botanical Garden were destroyed.
