Chisinau, 19 July /MOLDPRES/ - The executive committee from the Gagauz autonomy will subsidize farmers buying tractors assembled in the autonomy. The first deputy governor of the Autonomous Territorial Unit of Gagauzia (Gagauz-Yeri), Vadim Ceban, has made statements to this effect for the regional media.
An enterprise from the Gagauz autonomy has recently signed a memorandum on cooperation with a producer from Russia. This investment project will allow assembling cars in UTA Gagauz-Yeri, with their subsequent sale on the domestic and foreign markets.
Vadim Ceban noted that a line of assembling tractors from Belarusian spare parts already works in the Tomai settlement of the autonomy. “Due to this practice, the finished production is exempted from customs duties and is sold by 10-15 per cent cheaper. This allowed establishing a programme on backing local farmers who need technology and they will give preference to tractors assembled in UTA Gagauz-Yeri,” Ceban said, cited by the webpage www.gagauzinfo.md.
According to Vadim Ceban, “an interesting, promising market of agricultural technology is developed in the region, and due to this fact, the autonomy’s authorities can subsidize additionally producers who, by purchasing the technology here, support this market and, respectively, the economy of UTA Gagauz-Yeri.”
