Moldovan plastic artist varnishes personal painting exhibition in Chisinau

Chisinau, 19 July /MOLDPRES/ – A personal painting exhibition dedicated to Centenary of the Great Union with generic: ”100 de ani – 100 de tablouri” (100 years – 100 pictures) of artist George Petrea was varnished today at Constantin Brancusi Exhibition Centre in Chisinau.
The exhibition includes 100 works, in most landscapes, made by the author over the years.
Interviewed by agency, vice – president of Moldovan Artists Union, Ghenadie Jalba, mentioned that George Petrea is a lyrical artist. He makes a painting where prevails landscape. His painting comes from the impresionist stream. He paints directly from nature and glorifies our Romanian Basarabian landscape. George Petrea pleads for expression of the sunny landscape, striving to recreate the feeling of love for his native land," said Ghenadie Jalba.
According to plastic artist Ion Morarescu, lecturer at Ion Creanga State Pedagogical University, nature is the one that inspires George Petrea in painting. "He not only duplicates it on cloth, but passes through his soul with great passion. He has a child's soul and writes inspired lyrics for children," specified Ion Morarescu.
Attending the event, Alexandru Muresan, first collaborator – plenipotentiary minister of the Romanian Embassy in Moldova, said that inauguration of these exhibitions, dedicated to Centenary of the Great Union, is an important event. "We want to mark the joy of Romanians everywhere, 100 years from this beautiful dream that started from you," also said Alexandru Muresan.
George Petrea was born on 01 May 1942 in Niscani commune, Calarasi district, Lapusna county. In 1995 he graduated the Ion Creanga State Pedagogical University in Chisinau, Faculty of Fine Arts and Design. In 2001 George Petrea became a member of the Union of Plastic Artists Union of Moldova, and in 2005 he was founding member of the Vibratie creation group. During recent 10 years, his works have been varnished at international exhibitions in Romania, Turkey and other countries. He has edited several lyrics books for children: "Scump ca lumina" (Dear like light), "Stropi de soare" (Sun drops), "Huta – huta cu crenguta (Swing – swing with the branch), "Povestea unei flori" (The story of a flower), "Aricica gospodar" (Hedgehog the householder), "Hai sa crestem impreuna" (Let us grow together), "Visul pestisorului" (The dream of the fish), "Printesa codrului" (The princess of the woods),"Iepurasul Lulu" (Rabbit Lulu) etc.
The exhibition is open until 05 August.
