Authorities from south Moldova town impose taxes for evacuation of waste

Chisinau, 20 July /MOLDPRES/ -The Vulcanesti town council, at a meeting this week, approved a single tax for the evacuation of waste. The monthly tariff stands at nine lei per one person.  

The imposing of this tax was preceded by more public discussions, within which local residents backed the authorities’ decision to collect taxes for the town’s sanitation.

According to the Vulcanesti mayoralty, the payments will be accumulated at the local budget, being used for the evacuation of domestic waste from the town. At the same time, these means will be directed also for the servicing of the town’s cemeteries, parks, liquidation of accidental dumps, etc.  

The Vulcanesti town authorities said that, ‘’to make the process of evacuating waste as efficient as possible, especially as people will pay for this’’, the Vulcanesti mayoralty provided with technology and containers the specialized enterprise which will deal with sanitation.  

„We have placed dumping carts and containers on all streets of the town. Just this week, we ruled to distribute 15 containers also in the region of the Vulcanesti railway station and due to the European Union’s support, we received four new special vehicles for the evacuation of waste,’’ the Vulcanesti town mayor, Victor Petrioglu, said.
