Chisinau, 20 July /MOLDPRES/ - The National Ecologic Fund (FEN) has earmarked over 1.6 million lei for liquidating landslides in the Cazaclia village, southern Ceadar-Lunga district. The works are to start in July, according to the mayor of this settlement, Grigori Chior.
According to the mayor, the situation in this sector worsened several years ago. Afterwards, the Cazaclia mayoralty, along with the executive body of the Autonomous Territorial Unit of Gagauzia worked out a project for consolidating edges and stopping the sliding processes.
“During this July, we are to hold the needed tenders to start these works. In this respect, there are problems, as it is about a difficult zone and companies do not quite want to start doing this job,’’ Grigori Chior said, cited by the webpage www.gagauzinfo.md.
The mayor noted that, in the region of landslides, the ground would have to be dried, after which the precipice will be covered and turned in a street, with all needed communications.
Six households from Cazaclia are in the high risk zone at present.
