Moldova's Honorific Consulate opened in Klaipeda region of Lithuania

Chisinau, 20 July /MOLDPRES/ - Moldova’s Honorific Consulate in the Klaipeda region of Lithuania today was officially inaugurated during the Moldovan-Lithuanian inter-ministerial political consultations, the Foreign Affairs and European integration Ministry’s press service has reported.
At the event, state secretary, Carolina Perebinos, reiterated the gratitude of the Moldovan authorities for Lithuania’s support in the process of Moldova’s European integration and implementation of sectoral reforms nationally. The Moldovan official noted that both countries had similitudes in historical experiences and were presently facing similar challenges regionally and internationally.
The state secretary highlighted the very important role played by honorary consuls in the promotion of Moldova’s image abroad, strengthening the economic, commercial and cultural relations with foreign countries, investments’ attraction, as well as the consolidation of the inter-human ties. “I think that the active honorary consul will bring our countries closer and will open new opportunities of bilateral cooperation,” Carolina Perebinos said.
Attending the ceremony on inauguration of the Honorific Consulate were Deputy Foreign Affairs Minister of Lithuania Darius Skusevičius, Moldova’s Ambassador to Lithuania Serghei Mihov, Moldovan Honorary Consul in the Klaipeda region, Valdemaras Razumas and other guests.
