Chisinau, 21 July /MOLDPRES/ -Mayors from Chisinau’s suburbs have asked for the launch of new trolley bus routes towards their settlements and allocation of more financial resources for roads’ repair. The requests were made at a 20 July meeting between the Chisinau acting general mayor, Ruslan Codreanu, and the mayors of the settlements included in the municipality.

The most often issue tackled by the mayors from the suburbs was the maintenance and exploitation of public illumination networks. At the same time, the mayors also demanded earmarking of money for the repair of the ways of access to suburbs, maintenance of public roads and arrangement of stops. The mayors also said that they needed additional financings for the completion of projects underway, such as the repair of schools and kindergartens.

Ruslan Codreanu gave assurances that the municipality would provide support for the repair of the ways of access to settlements and additional allocations for roads’ maintenance.

For the time being, the settlements from the suburbs will benefit from used asphalt, left after the cutting of streets in Chisinau, up to 500 tons for each one.

Also, some of the new buses, due to be bought by the Chisinau city hall in 2018, will be distributed on the routes linking the Moldovan capital to the suburbs.

According to the Chisinau city hall, the next meeting of the acting general mayor with the mayors of the settlements from the municipality’s suburbs is planned for 17 August this year.
