Chisinau, 21 July /MOLDPRES/ - A five-year-old girl, diagnosed with acute intoxication with paracetamol, has been taken over by a team of  Mobile Emergency Service for Resuscitation and Extrication  (SMURD) and carried to the Grigore Alexandrescu Clinical Emergency Hospital for Children from Bucharest.

The operation took place on 20 July afternoon. The air medical crew SMURD Galati landed at the Dinamo stadium from Chisinau and took the child to carry her by air to Bucharest. Before this, the girl was hospitalized at the Chisinau-based Mother and Child Centre.

The minor was monitored during the flight by paramedics and SMURD doctors, being in a serious but stable condition.

According to the Interior Ministry’s General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations, this is the tenth case of air medical intervention by SMURD, made in 2018 for Moldova’s citizens, and the third intervention case for children smaller than seven years.

Over 49 people from Moldova have benefited from qualified air and medical assistance since the launch of the cross-border SMURD project.
