Parliament to host session of Parliamentary Assembly of Moldova, Poland

Chisinau, 21 July /MOLDPRES/ - Moldova’s parliament will host the fifth session of the Parliamentary Assembly of Moldova and Poland on 23 July, the parliament’s communication and public relations department has reported.
The session will be inaugurated by the co-heads of the Parliamentary Assembly, Nae-Simion Plesca and Ryszard Terlecki, as well as by Deputy Parliament Speaker Valeriu Ghiletchi.
The debates will take place within three panels of discussions: implementation of the Association Agreement with EU and the Polish experience in the process of pre-accession; Polish assistance programmes underway in Moldova; new mechanisms of turning to good account the effects of the inter-parliamentary cooperation, inter-parliamentary post-conference, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine: Eastern Partnership – Current Security Challenges.
A joint declaration of the Parliamentary Assembly of Moldova and Poland will be signed following the discussions. Afterwards, the co-heads of the Parliamentary Assembly, Nae-Simion Plesca and Ryszard Terlecki, will hold a joint news conference.
Under the agenda, in Chisinau, the Polish delegation will have meetings with Parliament Speaker Andrian Candu, Polish investors and representatives of Moldovan companies beneficiaries of the Polish assistance programme.
The delegation of Poland is made up of MPs Ryszard Terlecki, Deputy Marshall of Poland’s Sejm (Parliament) Andrzej Halicki ,Wojciech Bakun, Jerzy Polaczek, Monika Rosa, as well as senators Marek Pek and Waldemar Bonkowski.
The Parliamentary Assembly Moldova – Poland is an inter-parliamentary consultative body, set up to work out common points of view on subjects representing object of bilateral interest, especially in the context of the process of Moldova’s association with EU. The assembly holds plenary sessions, convened once a year, alternatively in Poland and Moldova. The last meeting of the Parliamentary Assembly took place in Warsaw on 8-10 October 2017.
The Parliamentary Assembly of Moldova and Poland was set up in Chisinau in June 2011.
