Over 200 young people buy dwellings within First Home programme in Moldova

Chisinau, 23 July /MOLDPRES/ - So far, 202 young people have already signed guarantee contracts within the First Home state programme. Another seven files are accepted and contracts are to be signed and 14 applications are under consideration, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
The total area of the dwellings purchased within the programme exceeds 13,000 square metres, with the average area of a dwelling being of 58 square metres. The average value of a dwelling bought is 543,000 lei.
The great majority of the beneficiaries are young families and about one third – unmarried young persons. The average age of the applicants is 31 years.
According to data by the Finance Ministry, the overall value of the loans provided reached 104.7 million lei, the one of guarantees – 52.3 million lei. The minimum interest rate applied by banks is 6.07 per cent.
The First Home state programme was launched at an initiative by Prime Minister Pavel Filip on 26 March 2018. Subsequently, within the project, special facilities were provided to civil servants. An initiative to create more advantageous conditions for families with children has been recently announced, with the state offering compensations between 10 and 100 per cent of the flat’s cost.
