Moldova to recognize Interpol Travel Document

Chisinau, 25 July /MOLDPRES/ - The parliament’s commission for foreign policy and European integration will propose to the legislative body to ratify the agreement between the Moldovan government and the International Criminal Police Organization - Interpol on the recognition of the Interpol Travel Document.
The document will facilitate the travel of Moldova’s competent authorities to Interpol member states for police cooperation and fulfilling official tasks. It is about representatives of the Interior Ministry, Customs Service, Justice Ministry, Prosecutor General’s Office, Intelligence and Security Service, as well as the National Anticorruption Centre.
The holders of the travel document will benefit from a special visa status. According to the parliament’s communication department, the Interpol Travel Document will be used along with the national passport and will be available in two forms: an electronic passport and an identification card. The act will be valid from 3 to 5 years.
The Interpol Travel Document is officially recognized by 77 member countries of this organization.
The agreement between Moldova’s government and the International Criminal Police Organization - Interpol on the recognition of the travel document was signed in China in September 2017.
