Yellow Code of Prut river's overflowing to meadow announced in northern Moldova

Chisinau, 25 July /MOLDPRES/ - The State Hydrometeorological Service (SHS) today announced a hydrologic warning for the country’s northern region, valid till 29 July.

According to SHS, given the heavy rainfall in the upper flow of Prut, (Ukraine), high river flood is formed.

Thus, on 25-29 July, the Prut river level is forecast to increase by about three metres on the segment between the Criva village and Costesti town. At the same time, in places, it is possible for the water to flow to the Prut meadow, in the region of Briceni and Edinet districts.

According to meteorologists, the rainy weather will maintain all over Moldova till the end of this week, especially in the northern region. The precipitation will be accompanied by almost dog days air temperatures, up to 32 Celsius degrees.
