Moldovan cabinet changes procedure of registration of producer prices for medicines

Chisinau, 25 July /MOLDPRES/ - The mechanism of approval and registration of the prices for Moldovan medicines and for the imported one has been simplified.  The government took a decision to this effect at a today’s meeting.  

According to the draft approved by the government, the producer prices for medicines will be approved based on the documents presented by the applicant and will be authorized by the Medicines and Medical Devices Agency.  

The Health, Labour and Social Protection Ministry has said that the new regulations would bring clarity to the mechanism of formation of producer prices even in case data costs existing in three reference countries are not annexed. More exactly, if three prices in the reference countries are lacking, the producer price for medication will be compared with two or one price present in one of the reference countries.      

The producer price will be declared by the applicant and approved by the Medicines and Medical Devices Agency in the national currency (Moldovan lei) and in foreign currency (at the National Bank’s exchange rate).
