Moldovan government earmarks 5.5 million lei to liquidate consequences of fire at Zoology Institute

Chisinau, 25 July /MOLDPRES/ - The cabinet has allocated 5.5 million lei for liquidating the consequences of a 20 April 2018 fire at the Zoology Institute from the Moldovan capita. The government approved a draft decision on the matter today.

The sum was earmarked from the government’s intervention fund.

Also, the money allocated includes the repair of the second, third and fourth floors, hit by the rains which followed.

On 20 April, the roof of the Biology block of the Chisinau-based Zoology Institute fully burned. The energy system, as well as the one of ventilation, the Internet, some offices and equipment was deteriorated in the wake of the fire.

According to the results issued by the anti-fire experimental laboratory, the flames were triggered by a short circuit in the electricity network of the mobile telephony operator or following a rash act with open fire.
