Moldova, India interested in deepening bilateral ties

Chisinau, 26 July /MOLDPRES/ - The present stage and ways of boosting the Moldovan-Indian relations, cooperation within international organizations, as well as opportunities of diversifying the commercial and economic relations today were discussed by Foreign Affairs and European Integration Minister Tudor Ulianovschi and Agree Ambassador of India to Moldova Thanglura Darlong, the Foreign Affairs and European Integration Ministry’s (MAEIE) public diplomacy, strategic communication and media interaction service has reported.
The Moldovan diplomacy head said that Moldova was interested in the development of relations with India. He noted that, to this end, a decision to open a diplomatic mission in New Delhi had been adopted, which will create needed premises for boosting the ties between the two countries on all dimensions.
Referring to the bilateral cooperation, Tudor Ulianovschi appreciated the support of the New Delhi government for scholarships to train civil servants from Moldova, within India’s technical and economic assistance programme, including for the courses of professional training for young MAEIE diplomats, provided by the Foreign Service Institute of the Indian Foreign Affairs Ministry. In the context of the creation of the National Diplomatic Institute, the Moldovan diplomacy head expressed the ministry’s interest to set a partnership with the counterpart institution from India, in order to improve the exchange of experience in terms of training diplomatic staff and national civil servants.
For his part, Ambassador Thanglura Darlong reiterated his country’s interest in extending and deepening the cooperation ties with Moldova in the most diverse sectors of mutual interest, including agriculture, pharmaceutics, information technologies, etc.
The officials expressed confidence that the visit to India by the foreign affairs and European integration minister, due on 10-15 August, would represent an important step in the deepening and developing of the bilateral relations, starting new investment projects with the participation of Indian companies, etc.
Also, today, the ambassador agree of Moldova, Thanglura Darlong, presented to the state secretary for bilateral and multilateral relations, Tatiana Molcean, the copies of the letters of accreditation as Bucharest-based extraordinary and plenipotentiary ambassador of India to Moldova.
