Interpol Travel Document to be recognized by Moldova

Chisinau, 26 July /MOLDPRES/ - The Interpol Travel Document will be recognized by Moldova. The parliament today adopted a draft law on the ratification of the agreement between the Moldovan government and the International Criminal Police Organization – Interpol.
According to the authors, the document will facilitate the travel by officials of Moldova’s competent authorities to Interpol member states for police cooperation.
It is about representatives of the Interior Ministry, Customs Service, Justice Ministry, Prosecutor General’s Office, Intelligence and Security Service and National Anticorruption Service.
The holders of the travel document will benefit from a special visa status. The Interpol Travel Document will be used along with the national passport and will be available in two forms: an electronic passport and an identification card. The act will be valid from 3 to 5 years.
The Interpol Travel Document is officially recognized by 77 member countries of this organization.
The agreement between Moldova’s government and the International Criminal Police Organization - Interpol on the recognition of the travel document was signed in China in September 2017.
