Moldovans working or who worked after retirement to be able to ask for pension's re-examination

Chisinau, 26 July /MOLDPRES/ - People who work or have worked after retirement will be able to ask for the re-examination of the pension starting from 1 January 2019, according to legislative amendments adopted by the parliament in the final reading today.  

Under the document, the pensioners who work or have worked after the fulfillment of their right to age limit pension can ask for the pension’s re-examination a single time, on condition that the quantum of the re-examined pension is bigger than the one paid.

The pensions set till 1 January 1999, with a length of pensionable service after the fulfillment of the right to pension from 15 years, will be re-examined as of 1 January 2019. Starting from 1 January 2020 – the ones set till 1 January 1999, with a length of pensionable service after the fulfillment of the right to pension up to 15 years. Afterwards, starting from 1 January 2021, the pensions established following 1 January 1999 till 1 January 2019 will be re-examined, with a length of pensionable service after the fulfillment of the right to pension from 15 years.   

In the next three years, the term of the length of pensionable service after the retirement will annually decrease by three years.

The number of people who would benefit from pensions’ re-examination is estimated at about 2,500 and the expenses – at 84 million lei, according to the Health, Labour and Social Protection Ministry. The number of re-examined pensions and expenses will increase in stages and in 2027 will reach 130,000 and respectively, 133 million lei.
