Chisinau, 26 July /MOLDPRES/ - The term of payment of a half of the fine set has been extended from 72 hours to three working days, according to legislative amendments to the Contravention Code, passed by the parliament in the final reading today.
As for drivers, if the person pays the sanction in three working days, no penalty points will be imposed to him/her. According to the draft’s authors, the measure will contribute to the prevention of corruption factors, as owners of drivers’ licences getting a critical number of penalty points try to omit this sanction by illegal means.
Other amendments see that the driver’s licence remain in possession of the driver, even if the latter was deprived of the right to drive, without the need to issue a provisional driver’s licence. The mention on the deprivation of this right will be made in the database held by the National Patrol Inspectorate, to which all employees with powers on the road traffic safety segment have access.
The driver is to be sanctioned also in case of carrying children smaller than 7 years, contrary to the provisions of the traffic regulations.
Also, the lawmakers adopted an amendment which sees that the carrying out of the works of reconstruction or other works, accompanied by noise, in rooms from blocks of flats in the time interval between 18:00 and 8:00 will also be sanctioned with fine imposed to private person or legal entity.
According to the authors, the goal of the draft is to counteract phenomena aimed at violating people’s rights.
