Torrential rains hit more settlements of Moldova

Chisinau, 27 July /MOLDPRES/ - The last two days’ torrential rains have hit more settlements of Moldova.
Contacted by MOLDPRES, the press officer of the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations, Liliana Puscasu, has said that the precipitation deteriorated more local gravel road segments in the Coscodeni village, northern Sangerei district.
„In the Nimereuca settlement, northern Soroca district, the rains destroyed 55 ha of sunflower, 145 ha of maize and damaged 2.5 km of road. Damages were recorded also in the central Orhei district, where the strong wind hit the roof of the Grigore Vieru gymnasium. As much as 250 metres of metal tile were pulled out here. The territorial commissions for emergency situations are to establish the sum of material damage,” Puscasu said.
According to the State Hydrometeorological Service, thunderstorm rains are forecast for north Moldova and partially in the central and southern regions. The maximum air temperatures will be up to +35 Celsius degrees during the day and +23 degrees at night.
