Moldovan foreign affairs minister meets ambassador of Lithuania

Chisinau, 27 July /MOLDPRES/ - Lithuania is an active supporter of Moldova’s European integration and commits to continue the backing for the carrying out of development projects in Moldova. Ambassador of Lithuania to Moldova Rimantas Latakas, ending his mandate in Chisinau, has made statements to this effect at a meeting with Foreign Affairs and European Integration Minister Tudor Ulianovschi, the Foreign Affairs and European Integration Ministry’s public diplomacy, strategic communication and media interaction service has reported.
Tudor Ulianovschi and Rimantas Latakas exchanged opinions on the present stage of the Moldovan-Lithuanian relations, noting their boosting on the last period on all dimensions. The officials also said that the recent inauguration of Moldova’s Honorary Consulate in the Klaipeda region represented a new step for extending the bilateral ties, establishing new partnerships between the two countries.
The Moldovan diplomacy head expressed the Chisinau authorities’ appreciations for the assistance for development provided to Moldova by the Lithuanian government to such important sectors as domestic affairs, emergency situations and road traffic, food safety, etc.
Minister Tudor Ulianovschi praised the contribution of Ambassador Rimantas Latakas to the development of the Moldovan-Lithuanian relations, especially for organizing more high-level visits, which had a major impact on boosting the bilateral political dialogue and cooperation in fields of mutual interest.
For his part, Ambassador Latakas said that Moldova remained in continuation one of the priority beneficiaries of the support for development on behalf of Lithuania, including for the carrying out of the reforms needed for Moldova.
