Several local roads destroyed after heavy rains

Chisinau, 31 July /MOLDPRES/- Several local roads in the south and north of the country were destroyed after heavy rains of the past two days.

According to the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations (IGSU), in Cahul district, the rain destroyed about 0.8 km of local road from gravel and asphalt, and in Sangerei about 0.9 km of gravel road was damaged.

However, due to bad weather, several agricultural lands were affected in Comrat.

Also, IGSU employees have been asked to carry out water pumping works in 13 cellars and farmyards.

In the morning, partial electricity disconnection was announced in 21 localities in eight districts of the country. At around 11:00, electricity was restored in all areas.

Territorial commissions for emergencies are to estimate the recorded damages.
