Chisinau, 31 July /MOLDPRES/- Two types of judicial expertise will be additionally accredited to the National Center for Judicial Expertise. The first is to identify people based on fingerprints, and the second is the expertise of road accident circumstances.
Reports of these types of expertise will be recognized across the European Union and their results will be valid for cases brought before the European Court of Human Rights, the Justice Ministry said in a press release.
The forensic laboratory of CNEJ received accreditation a year ago and is the first accredited laboratory in our country. In the first half of this year 68 examinations in cases of accidents were conducted, 60 of them at the request of the court or criminal prosecution bodies and 8 at the request of individuals.
Judicial expertise is an activity involving thorough research, special knowledge and scientific procedures by competent people. The findings in the expert report serve as evidence in the judicial process, acquired through scientific methods.
