European single currency gets dearer at beginning of August in Moldova

Chisinau, 31 July /MOLDPRES/ – After the European single currency has depreciated within recent few days compared to the Moldovan leu, it will increase by MDL 0,07 on 01 August and have an official price of MDL 19,43.

According to the official exchange rates published today by the National Bank of Moldova (BNM), the US dollar ($) will continue its depreciation on 01 August. It will decrease MDL 0,01 and cost MDL 16,56.

On the other hand, the Romanian leu (RON) will value MDL 0,02 and have a quote of MDL 04,20.

Similarly, the Ukrainian hryvnia (UAH) and Russian rouble (RUR) will keep on the first day of August the price recorded in late July. They will cost MDL 0,61 and MDL 0,26, respectively.

The official exchange rate is the price of MDL against the currencies of other countries. It is calculated based on the exchange rates established by licensed banks in buying/selling transactions of currencies with their customers and other banks. Thus, the official exchange rate reflects the ratio of demand to foreign exchange supply in foreign exchange market of Moldova.
