Chisinau arena could be built by late August next year

Chisinau, 1 August /MOLDPRES/- Chisinau arena could be built and put into operation by late August next year. Parliament Speaker Andrian Candu made the statement today.

The speaker said that within a few days, the negotiations are finalized and the contract is signed with the company declared winner of the project. "Since signing, I will engage in discussion and ensure parliamentary control over the project" he said.

“We want the Chişinău arena to be built and put into operation within a year. Thus, if the works begin at the end of August, then at the end of August next year the arena is to be put into operation. I'm waiting to discuss with the winners of the contest. Until then, government officials will negotiate with the company's representatives and will work on the contract," he said.

Construction works of Chisinau arena will begin in late August and will be executed by a Turkish company. A single company expressed wish to carry out the design and construction works of Arena Chisinau. Selection committee analyzed the offer and set that it meets all the conditions put forward by the state.

Chisinau arena is to be built in Stauceni village through a public-private partnership with a capacity of up to five thousand seats and generous spaces for sports, cultural activities, training area, Olympic swimming pool, tennis club, as well as exhibitions, conferences and meetings.
