Parliament speaker affirms Moldova to remain in partnership with IMF programme

Chisinau, 01 August /MOLDPRES/ – We remain partners, we remain in the programme of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and together we will work upon draft of state budget for 2019, has said today Parliament Speaker, Andrian Candu, at a press conference, the parliament’s communication and public relations department has reported.

Interviewed by journalists to expose on next IMF installment, the Speaker noted that IMF programme has provided for stipulating of new installments after a successful mission evaluation.

According to him, the recent IMF assessment took place in June 2018, and it was agreed, at suggestion of IMF experts, that new tasks and goals for Parliament and Government would be set after the parliamentary elections of 24 February 2019.

"It is an IMF practice not to make evaluations and payments during electoral campaigns. Also, the experts will work together with representatives of the state authorities to set the draft state budget law for 2019, to be voted by Parliament by 30 November," specified SP.
