Families with children to be able to buy dwelling easier in Moldova

Chisinau, 01 August /MOLDPRES/ – The families with children will be able to buy housing easier within programme "Prima Casa" (First home). The Government has approved today the Regulation on granting of financial compensation from state budget to families with children, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.

Thus, the state will pay 10 per cent of dwelling price for families with one child, 25 per cent for families with two children, 50 per cent for families with three children, and for those ones with four or more children, it will pay total amount, while family paying just interest.

The maximum cost of a purchased dwelling will not exceed MDL 1 million (value stated in sale-purchase contract). The amount of compensation will be revised on demand with the increase in number of children and automatically – when the child reaches the age of 18. If applicant can benefit from facilities both as a public sector employee and as a parent, the amount of cumulative cash compensation can not exceed 100 per cent of the mortgage loan amount.

The PM has proved to be sure that this project will encourage young people to stay at home. "When we talk about people going abroad, that young people go abroad, we need to understand why and what to do. One of the reasons is housing, so through "First home" we try to solve this issue," said Pavel Filip.

The state programme "First home" was launched, on initiative of PM Pavel Filip, on 26 March, as to help young people to buy a place for living. Subsequently, the Government decided to pay half of the cost of housing to public sector employees.

So far, nearly 250 families have bought their homes throughout programme "First home", for which the state has allocated MDL 20 million in 2018.
